Many problems in electrical systems are caused by abnormal heating associated with high resistance or excessive current flow. Infrared Thermal Imaging allows us to see these invisible patterns before damage or failure occurs.

Here are just a couple of examples of what we can see with the human eyes and what Infrared Thermal Imaging can see through the camera.

This image is what we see with the human eye. There appears to be no problem here.
This image is what the INFRARED camera sees. The problems appear in the INFRARED Image.

It has been our experience that somewhere between 20% and 30% of all switch gear we look at will have some sort of a potential problem. Whether it be loose or dirty connections, bad fuse spring clips, and or bad disconnect knife blades in the power disconnect boxes.

Example of a potential problem in a disconnect box.

The image on the left shows what we would see with the human eye. The image on the right is a Infrared Thermal image. Notice the heat on the fuses from the bad disconnects. This is a potential for a real problem. The left fuse is showing 355° which could be a real fire hazard.
